Historical Index of Human Development (HIHD), measured from 0 to 1 (where highest is best). HIHD is a composite measure of development derived from the variablesaverage life expectancy, literacy rates, educational enrolment and GDP per capita. GDP per capita is adjusted for inflation and differences in the cost of living betweencountries.
